A breakdown of the most interesting figures to emerge from the gambling industry in the past seven days

11 - The amount of players that users must select in FanDuel’s UK focused DFS product which launched this week ahead of the new EPL season. There’ll be no substitutes nor captains, with a clear aim on simplification.

Company CEO and Co-Founder Nigel Eccles said: “This is a proud moment and marks our first step into fantasy football and the UK market – our first international offering. Until now, FanDuel’s product has been exclusive to the US and Canada, we’re delighted to be able to offer contests back on our home turf in the UK, where we first started the business and continue to base our engineering operations.”

70,000,000 - The figure in millions of pounds sterling that Stride Gaming paid for the combined acquisition of three firms; Tarco Ltd, Netboost Media and 8Ball Games. This will give Stride’s overall UK online bingo market share a major boost and the company has stated it’s aiming for a 20% market share.

Chief Executive of Stride Gaming Eitan Boyd said: "I am delighted by the proposed acquisition of these leading gaming companies, which expedite our ambition to build Stride Gaming into the market leader in the soft gaming vertical of the online gaming industry.”

1,496 - The number of fixtures that are currently planned to take place in the British Horseracing Authority calendar in 2017. This is 14 more than in 2016. The BHA also announced some changes in a bid to increase attendances, betting volume and general media interest. One of these measures is the creation of 11 floodlit fixtures on Saturday evenings in winter.

13,600,000 - William Hill has paid £13.6m for the acquisition of Grand Parade. This will boost its development arm; Grand Parade has been in business since 2007 and is an expert in developing native apps, betting-specific devices and visuals for industry clients.

4 - The number of Championship clubs with which bookmaker 888sport has signed official partnerships with. These are Birmingham City, Notts Forest, Preston North End and Brentford. The terms of the deal are somewhat unique in that the bookie has arranged a major plus for fans of the clubs; as a part of its Fans First campaign it has agreed to pay for fans’ midweek travel to away games until Christmas this season.

Senior Vice President and Head of B2C at 888 Holdings Itai Pazner said: "We believe that the Championship has retained the essence of true football and know that fans are the heartbeat of every club, so we really want to help them with things that will make a significant difference to their relationship with their team."

302,000,000 - The amount of hours of sleep that Sporting Index states that Brits will lose out on watching the Olympics in Brazil this month! The spread betting firm worked with pollsters Opinium to discover this tiring information.
