The Swedish based operator has launched its sportsbook in Germany

LeoVegas has continued its expansion across the biggest European markets by taking the “natural step” to enter the sports loving German market.

The Stockholm-listed operator is confident that its sports offering, complete with a new LeoVegas Sport app described as “lightning fast”, will be a hit with the German audience, just a few months after making a successful entry into the Danish market.

Tobias Scholz, country manager for DACH at LeoVegas, told TotallyGaming.com: “Germany is a large country and Germans love sports, especially football. When we launched LeoVegas SPORT back in May 2016, it was only a matter of time until we offered this great product to sport fans in Germany.”

LeoVegas marked its German market entry with a multi-channel marketing campaign across social media and TV, combined with a series of well-timed sports partnerships.

Scholz explained: “The launch campaign includes TV, digital and print advertisements. We have partnered with some of the largest sports networks in Germany to build brand awareness.

“Just a week ago (22 August), we announced that LeoVegas SPORT is the official sports betting partner of the German handball league (HBL) and we sponsored the Pixum Handball Super Cup the following day.”

Totally Gaming says: LeoVegas has targeted the sports loving German public as part of a H2 objective to take its mobile capabilities, customer experience and navigation speed to a wider European audience. The operator already holds licences for sport in Malta, Ireland, Denmark and the UK, along with Italy through the acquisition of Winga.
