Kambi Group discusses worldwide sportsbook market reach

Now extends across five continents

Sports betting provider Kambi Group has endured a busy period as 2017 quickly draws to a close.

Deals with StarVegas in Italy, Mexican media conglomerate Televisa and most recently South African gaming and hospitality group Sun International, has seen the firm expand its presence into a number of markets worldwide.

Max Meltzer, chief commercial officer at Kambi, has been speaking to TotallyGaming.com about these expansions and potential plans for the future: “As countries continue to introduce licensing frameworks for online sports betting, regulated revenues become increasingly important.

“Kambi has always looked to enter regulated markets when possible and gain licences where required, and we will continue to do so.

“In fact, Kambi has a 100% record of obtaining and retaining licences and we look forward to gaining further licences and certifications in the near future.

He added: “Kambi is always interested in regulated markets where there is a requirement for a high-quality Sportsbook, and one where we can partner with visionary operators with a desire to become market leaders.

“Of course, we continue to pay close attention to what is happening in the US and other potentially regulating markets, but it’s just as important for us who the partner is and what we can help them achieve as much as the market itself, and as a result we are constantly assessing the global market for ideal partners.

“We are always in a position of readiness if the partnership is right, ready to support our operators extensively pre-launch and throughout our relationship.”

The latest deal, with South African facing sportsbook Sun International, who operate SunBet.co.za, will involve a migration to the Kambi end-to-end sports betting solution, with Meltzer commenting: “The agreement with Sun International will bring a number of benefits. Firstly, the deal increases our international footprint - upon launch in South Africa the Kambi Sportsbook will be available in five continents, making Kambi a truly global Sportsbook provider.

“The deal will also increase our exposure to the Latin American market, which has been part of Kambi’s long-term strategy and follows recent deals with Televisa in Mexico and Corredor Empresarial in Colombia.

“Furthermore, the deal is multi-channel so Sun International will integrate the Kambi Sportsbook for its online SunBet brand and, over time, throughout its vast retail estate. We are all really excited by this opportunity, one which demonstrates the scalability and flexibility of the Kambi Sportsbook core.”

Totally Gaming says: The expansions have been coming thick and fast for Kambi as of late, with deals in a number of markets vastly stretching its reach. While some attention is rightly being focussed on the US market, they also seem to have a very clear vision of where Kambi is to be heading in the future.
