Esports only betting operator PVP.ME recently agreed a deal with Spanish CS:GO team Giants gaming. Henceforth the team will be known as Giants PVP.ME.

PVP.ME CMO Mike Doyle told Totally Gaming why they decided to go down this rebrand route: “The reason we decided to rename the team was mainly due to us making not only a sponsorship but an alliance between Giants and PVP.ME. We hope to build together a long standing project with their CSGO team by giving them everything they need to achieve success.”

He continued: “Personally I sponsored Giants in their early days with my gaming server company nearly 10 years ago and they have always proven to be Spain’s number one esports club in regards to been professional and international results in the recent years. Giants is a reference in the Spanish and Latin American market and was the first spanish club to enter the LCS of League of Legends.”

The brand has sponsored the CS:GO team specifically due to the ‘matureness in regards to betting in esports compared to other games’. This is a nod to Valve’s far more open approach than say Blizzard or Riot who are strongly opposed to betting of any kind on their titles. Valve is the developer behind the games CS:GO and Dota, whilst Blizzard have Overwatch and Riot have the big hitter of League of Legends.

Despite the publishers’ reluctance, bookmakers do offer markets on their titles, and Doyle stated that they “currently have over 4000 daily bettors on just LOL matches, so there is clearly a demand”.

Esports betting is growing at a real fast rate and since may we started promoting our platform with great success we have been confirming that our approach is one that really fits what gamers are looking for in a betting platform, we are currently seeking investment partners to help us grow and expand our success to other regions and bring gambling to all gamers.

Totally Gaming says: PVP.ME offers a new and interesting take on betting on esports markets. This partnership with Giants signals its ambition and should give them some strong exposure within the CS:GO community.
