Land-based product has passed technical field trial in Nevada

Inspired Gaming says it will develop US-specific virtual game after its land-based Virtual Sports products successfully passed technical field trial in association with William Hill and the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

This deployment of land-based Virtual Sports products in Nevada is the first of its kind in the U.S, and Inspired’s full Virtual Sports product portfolio will consequently become available across William Hill Nevada Casino Sportsbook venues during 2017.

Steve Rogers, CCO Digital Games at Inspired, told TotallyGaming.com: “We’re currently live with horse racing in the US which is doing well, and we’ll be introducing Soccer and the Mike Tyson boxing branded suite of products in the next few months. We’re also expecting big things in 2017 for Rush Basketball featuring Shaquille O’Neal.

“Just as we have created specific versions of our products for the UK and Italian markets, for example horses in the UK and trotting for Italy, we will be doing the same in the US, as well as adding sports which are more specific to the North American market.”

Inspired’s Virtual Sports will be shown alongside live sports in Casino sportsbook areas, and players will be able to place bets in real time via William Hill’s CBS platform both over the counter and via self service terminals.

Rogers added: “The successful completion of Inspired’s Virtual Sports technical field trial in Nevada is fantastic news for the business, as we bring our extensive portfolio of products to more US venues than ever before. This announcement again confirms Inspired as the world leader in Virtual Sports innovation and deployment, and we look forward to delivering cutting-edge Entertainment with an Edge to William Hill’s customers in Nevada.

“Expansion in the US is a strategic focus for Inspired, and we’re excited to extend our Virtual Sports offering to specifically suit this market.”

Totally Gaming says: This ground breaking move from Inspired means that it has plenty of reasons to develop US-specific virtual sports now, given that sports bettors in Las Vegas will be able to play the game in a retail environment. Given that breaking the US is an ambition for the company, developing products focused on that market will likely provide long term advantages.
