Online and mobile punters will now be able to watch live races

BAGS Greyhound Racing will now be available to online punters thanks to a development that will allow live streaming of up to 28,000 UK races per year.

Bookmakers’ Afternoon Greyhound Service (BAGS), content and services provider Satellite Information Services (SIS) and Sport MediaStream - the streaming platform owned by At The Races - have combined to offer the service currently available in betting shops to desktop and mobile punters.

SIS will be responsible for picture collection from tracks and data feeds while Sport Mediastream will handle the creation, delivery and management of the streaming content solution.

BAGS said it has chosen the partnership as a means to ensure the optimum product is made available to bookmaker partners with minimal integration requirement or risk or delays.

BAGS chairman Dominic Ford said: “We have known for a number of years that there has been a demand from the greyhound betting public to access the opportunity online. We are now able to satisfy that demand.

“This will provide a new revenue source into greyhound racing. BAGS will ensure that money from the online market finds its way into support for the greyhound tracks and the grass roots of our sport.”

Paul Witten, SIS’s commercial director, said: “SIS has delivered greyhound racing pictures and data into UK and Irish betting shops for 28 years, and we are delighted to now be integral in bringing this to life for online and mobile users.

“Growing the popularity of the sport is high on our agenda and this is an exciting development for a new audience.”
