Psychologist Dr Richard Wood to look at the tool which was launched last month

Mr Green has announced that gaming behaviour psychologist Dr Richard Wood is to evaluate its Green Gaming Predictive Tool.

Launched just last month, the tool allows customers to monitor their playing style, giving them an insight into their own risk behaviour in the process.

Dr Wood, who investigates individual causes of gambling, in addition to characteristics of games that can influence the gambling behaviour of vulnerable players, focuses his research on developing effective responsible gaming strategies.

He is also the owner of GamRes, ‘an independent research and consultancy service that designs, implements and evaluates responsible gambling strategies.’

Jesper Kärrbrink, CEO of Mr Green, told TotallyGaming.com: “Having Dr Wood evaluating our Green Gaming model is a way for us to develop the concept further.

“We have built the Green Gaming tool together with Sustainable Interaction, adding Dr Woods expertise I think we have a strong team evaluating the effect a tool like this can have on players, Mr Green and perhaps even the industry.”

The online gambling company’s new tool analyses the playing behaviour of customers and combines it to their own perception of playing behaviours. In turn, those who exhibit risk behaviour may be asked to set different limits or refrain from playing for a period of time. During this time direct sales messages to players who display such risk behaviour will also be stopped by Mr Green.

Through this evaluation by Dr Wood the tool can advance and move forward. Dr Wood said: “This evaluation will examine if the players get value from using this sort of high-tech tool.

“By combining player’s behavioural data and player feedback, we should be able to see the extent to which players agree with and act on the feedback, information and recommendations that they get.”

Totally Gaming says: Tools that monitor players behaviour and have appropriate actions when risk behaviour is displayed can only be a good thing for the industry.  By bringing in a specialist like Dr Wood, Mr Green are ensuring that they get expert feedback and fully utilise it going forward.
