William Hill and ARC management expect the facilities to be installed within all six racetracks by the end of August

Arena Racing Company (“ARC”) has announced a partnership with William Hill which will see the bookmaker open betting facilities on six of its racecourses.

Punters using the on-course betting facilities at Doncaster, Lingfield Park, Royal Windsor, Southwell, Wolverhampton, Worcester will all to be able to enjoy the services operated by William Hill.

The betting facilities at Doncaster have been open since early June, while facilities at Wolverhampton opened on Thursday 10 August and were followed by Royal Windsor on Sunday 13 August. Southwell’s betting facilities will open on Sunday 20 August and it is aimed that the facilities at Lingfield Park and Worcester will be open by the end of August.

The deal marks William Hill’s continued strengthening of its position within the racing industry after the bookmaker recently agreed a long-term media rights deal with The Racing Partnership in December 2016.

As well as this, William Hill are also now the sponsors of the William Hill St Leger Festival which will run at Doncaster racecourse from Wednesday 13 September to Saturday 16 September.

ARC Director of External Affairs, Susannah Gill told “by partnering with William Hill and ensuring the facilities are open we’re providing customers at our racecourses with a complete betting experience as they can enjoy the action on the track while also being able to watch and bet on other race meetings and sports.”

The news also follows on from the release of William Hill’s half yearly results in which the company stated wagering growth across all four of its divisions in the first half of 2017.

William Hill’s Divisional Director for the Northern Region, Steven White, said: “The William Hill facilities at Doncaster are already proving popular so we are excited about extending our presence to the on-course betting facilities at six of ARC’s racecourses.

“On course customers will receive the full William Hill service enabling them to bet on other courses as well as other sports while viewing the best of the day’s televised sporting action.”

Totally Gaming Says: The deal between ARC and William Hill is great news for racegoing punters. Providing the opportunity to bet on sporting events outside of the race track whilst they’re at the races, is likely to attract a much greater crowd to the races. The deal is very much a win-win as William Hill, ARC and punters will all benefit from the deal.
